Curated Abstractions
Orten is an online digital gallery devoted to contemporary abstract works shaped by place, light and contemplation.
Founded in Narrm/Melbourne, Australia, we can show you pieces that transform residential, commercial, and institutional spaces into curated visual experiences.
Orten curates artists whose practices move beyond representation — where landscape becomes a language of memory, perception and emotion. We are drawn to works that reveal the forces within a place: the atmosphere of light, the depth of space, the rhythm of geology, and the moments of stillness that define our experiences of the world.
The artists we represent do not simply depict landscape; they distil it. Through abstraction, line, angles, reduction and careful observation, they invite a slower way of seeing — one where colour, texture and silence become the subject.
Kym Ortenburg is passionate about how art can inform and change you. Ex lawyer, Master of Arts in Documentary and Producing, co-founder of the Gertrude St Projection Festival and the Centre for Projection Art in Melbourne, her focus for the last 20 years has been public art, projection art and new media. She’s now bringing that energy and expertise to show you exceptional abstract work in all human-created mediums.
